ABOUT US
Basically, we’re just like you.
We enjoy living our urban/suburban existence, but we
also love the planet and don’t want to harm it
(or ourselves!) So we try and live as low-impact a life
as possible shopping at farmer’s markets, driving
as little as possible and buying second-hand and green
products.
But it’s not always easy to know what’s
really a green product and what’s just “green-washing”
(that’s white-washing information to make a company
look more environmental than it actually is), and that’s
why we’re here…to make it easier for you
to be greener!
Alegre: The “she” in this husband and wife
team, Alegre’s a second-generation Angeleno who
loves being outdoors. Green and Greener is the culmination
of a life spent educating herself on how to live a healthier
life giving up soda at 11, nail polish at 18 (except
for her wedding!) and hair chemicals at 20. Her studies
include a background in anthropology, socially responsible
entrepreneurship and interior design.
Sean: The “he” in this twosome, Sean is
a life-long soul surfer, philosopher and native Angeleno.
A talented wood worker, Sean can make almost anything
with his hands and is pursuing a lifelong dream by venturing
into the world of custom surfboards. An avid snowboarder,
skateboarder and mountain-biker he is happiest outside
finding new mountains, banks and waves to ride.
WE BELIEVE
- when given full information
most people will do the right thing
- it’s not enough to ask “can I”
do something but “should I”
- businesses should be of and for the community
they operate in
- when buying something one should always ask
“how was it made” and “where was it
made” and that the answer should be “ethically”
and “as locally as possible”
- if a company hasn’t thought about how
their product will be disposed of safely, then they
aren’t done designing it
